Smart City Solutions
By 2050 approximately two thirds, i.e. 3 bln. people are expected to live in urban areas, accounting for 70% of energy consumption. As the result, energy efficiency is at the heart of the global transition to the resource-efficient economy. Becoming a Smart City means to change radically the way we understand, design and live in our cities. Using the state- of-the-art technology it is possible to improve the quality of public services and enhance the quality of living, still providing more sustainability and better performance.
In regard to the street lighting the municipalities of Smart Cities should consider the following focus areas:
- People and Road Safety
- Energy efficiency
- Passability, Readability and Recognisability
- More attractive urban spaces
